Congratulations to Katie Berluti, who won the Graduate Student Teaching Award from Georgetown University this year!
Katie won this award to recognize the outstanding seminar she independently designed and led, titled, “Antisociality, Brain, and Behavior”, in which she taught about the neurodevelopmental origins of antisocial behavior and how cutting-edge computational approaches can be used to better understand these outcomes.
In their nomination letter, Katie’s student’s wrote, “Katie is a woman in science during a time which seeing a female instructor in a STEM-focused class still means something to the undergraduate and graduate population alike. It means opening up doors for women in STEM classes in high school and STEM majors in college. Seeing a female graduate instructor push the boundaries for the next generation of psychology researchers by incorporating computer science approaches in an undergraduate psychology class which has been inspirational.”
